Resources to Help You Start A Local LION
You want to start a LION group in your community, right? Here are some resources to get you going…
- Amy Cortese has written a book called Locavesting: The Revolution in Local Investing and How to Profit from It. This is a must-read if you’re starting to explore all the ways your community can invest in itself. There’s a terrific Q&A with Amy in Fast Company here.
- This Q&A with James Frasier of Local 2020 helped me when I was exploring LION for Madison.
- BALLE’s blog is irregularly updated, but the tips and ideas are top-notch.
- James Frasier offers a LION Startup Kit ($150) and 30-minute increments of consulting time ($75) at his store, here. James was my go-to guy before I launched LION in Madison, and I published a Q&A with him here. You can read more about James here.
Which resources are YOU using to launch your local LION? Add them in the comments below…

Looking to start locavesting in the UK as small enterprise here has virtually zero lending sources.

Its seems you are on to something here. Any chance you have laid roots in Milwaukee yet?
